Caesars Southern Indiana will be hosting an event for the World Series of Poker (WSOP) soon. The casino is one of the new stops on the WSOP Circuit.

The regional poker tour begins immediately after the end of the 2022 WSOP tournament in Las Vegas. This year, that inks the start of the Circuit for Wednesday, July 20.

WSOP at Caesars Southern Indiana

Caesars Southern is right across the river from Louisville, which puts the Indiana casino in a great location to draw in customers from Kentucky.

The casino is a returning heritage stop on the upcoming WSOP Circuit. It joins Harveys Lake Tahoe in that regard.

The Circuit currently has 25 stops on the books for this season, with 10 more on the way soon.

Caesars Southern is the final stop on the regional tour, so all of the action comes to a conclusion in Indiana. The Hoosier State’s stop on the Circuit is scheduled to take place from May 11 until May 22 next year.

Each stop usually includes about a dozen events with a $250 buy-in. The main event features a $1,700 buy-in for a no-limit Hold’em tournament.

WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart thinks expanding this year’s Circuit will be a hit.

“The World Series of Poker is back with the Circuit returning in just short of a month. With record breaking attendance so far this summer, we expect a huge response to the full-scale return of our regional mid stakes tour.”

More events on the way?

Poker is the bread and butter of Caesars Southern Indiana. The casino moved into a new building back in 2019, so there’s plenty of space for gamblers at the property.

Caesars Southern’s 16 live tables make it one of the largest poker rooms in the entire state.

The WSOP encourages every stop on the Circuit to add additional Seniors and Ladies events to the action. The winners of those events qualify to participate in the “Tournament of Champions” in Las Vegas.

Since Caesars Southern’s poker room is so well-equipped, that could make it more likely for the casino to add additional events. That will be something for Hoosier poker players to keep an eye on.

At the very least, the WSOP returning to Indiana is an exciting development. Before long, all sorts of gamblers will be flocking to Caesars Southern for the action.
