Tropicana Evansville is finally returning to its normal hours.

Starting July 2, the casino will be open 24/7 for the first time since the start of the pandemic.

The return to normalcy will come as a relief for southern Indiana gamblers. Tropicana’s hours have been all over the place thanks to the pandemic.

Now, things are finally getting back to normal.

Tropicana has had a ton of safety requirements to follow over the past year. Every other casino has been in the same boat, but it has made for a strange gambling experience.

Tropicana will be removing all of those safety rules on July 2.

No masks, no social distancing, and no more smoking ban.

Tropicana General Manager John Chaszar says that the casino is ready for normal operations.

“Masks are optional for anyone fully vaccinated and recommended for everyone not fully vaccinated. We have been working very hard over the past year to keep everyone safe and we will continue to provide the outstanding service and experiences Tropicana Evansville is known for.”

Tropicana is just the latest casino in Indiana to starting removing restrictions.

Indiana casinos haven’t had mandatory pandemic restrictions for about a month now.

The gaming commission removed the statewide requirements, but they didn’t disappear overnight.

Every casino had the option to keep restrictions in place if it wanted to. Local health departments can also create extra rules as they see fit.

That led to some casinos like Tropicana keeping those precautions in place for longer than required.

Most of the state’s casinos are back to normal now, which puts them in a great spot to take advantage of Fourth of July weekend.

More changes coming to Tropicana

The Tropicana may be back to normal when it comes to operating hours, but more changes are on the horizon.

Caesars recently sold the casino to Bally’s, so expect the company to come in and put its own touch on the property.

For starters, the casino will be changing its name to Bally’s Evansville. The building’s William Hill sportsbook is also being replaced with a Bally’s Sports Bar.

Part of the transition might include some temporary changes to the casino’s new operating hours as well.

Bally’s hasn’t announced when the rebranding will take place, so check back in for more updates.
