PointsBet Follows BetMGM’s Lead By Partnering With The PGA Tour
PointsBet Sportsbook is now an official betting operator of the PGA Tour.
The company is looking to expand its already impressive list of golf betting options.
PointsBet and the PGA Tour
Compared to the industry average, PointsBet already offers 500% more bet types for the PGA Tour.
Over half of the sportsbook’s golf handle is coming from live bets.
Since the betting volume is already there, PointsBet wants to continue milking that high level of interest. This partnership is the next step in making that happen.
With the PGA Tour as an official partner, PointsBet can offer exclusive golf promotions. That’s in addition to being able to use the Tour’s logo and branding.
Norb Gambuzza, senior vice president of the PGA Tour, says focusing on live betting will help grow fan engagement.
“PointsBet has made a substantial commitment to golf through a deep and robust product offering and an emphasis on live, in-play betting, both of which will translate into greater audience development and fan engagement for the PGA Tour. PointsBet’s golf products are experiencing incredible growth, which lays the foundation for a very successful relationship.”
PointsBet’s new partnership will help the company continue to expand around the US.
However, they weren’t the first Indiana betting app to sign a deal with the PGA Tour.
BetMGM already a PGA partner
It only beat PointsBet by a few weeks, but BetMGM did manage to strike a deal with the PGA first.
Similar to PointsBet’s deal, BetMGM is now a part of the PGA Tour’s Betting Operator Program.
Now that it has the content and video rights, the sportsbook will be able to create special betting programming centered around golf.
PointsBet has focused on live betting, but BetMGM has its eyes on more partnerships.
So far, BetMGM has already lined up several partnerships tied to the world of golf. According to Gambuzza, those relationships are what made BetMGM’s partnership with the company a no-brainer.

Through the power of the BetMGM brand and resources, this new relationship will help accelerate our sports betting strategy, and enable the Tour to reach new fans and further engage current fans who enjoy betting on golf.”

Although both PointsBet and BetMGM recently inked golf deals, both companies are expanding into other sports as well.
BetMGM and NASCAR partner up
BetMGM recently signed a deal with NASCAR on Aug. 11.
Indiana is better known for IndyCar, but there’s still plenty of NASCAR fans around, especially in the southern half of the state.
The sportsbook is hoping to become the leading operator when it comes to NASCAR betting.
In order to do that, BetMGM plans on eventually offering new types of bets on things like top finishers, stage winners and the over/under of the winning car’s number.
By investing heavily in racing and golf, the sportsbook could become a big player when it comes to gambling on the non-major sports.
Pacers working with PointsBet
While BetMGM focuses on racing, PointsBet is doubling down on the Hoosier State’s soft spot.
Indiana’s love affair with basketball is a well-known one. That makes the company’s new partnership with the Pacers a noteworthy one.
The sportsbook’s logo will be on the court at Bankers Life Fieldhouse from here on out.
With the Pacers currently in the NBA playoffs, that new partnership could be a profitable one for PointsBet.
With both PointsBet and BetMGM rapidly expanding to cover more sports, both companies are hoping to carve out their own chunk of the betting handle in both Indiana and the rest of the US.
The two are competitors, so by signing new partnerships with the PGA Tour, NASCAR and the Pacers, both sportsbooks are hoping to one-up each other moving forward.
