During March, Indiana’s casinos reported another month of robust figures. The industry accumulated over $217 million in revenue last month.

Typically, Indiana casinos make about $200 million monthly, and March was no exception. There was a slight rise in revenue from February’s $205 million.

In Indiana, March saw a solid revenue of $217 million. This amount equated to approximately $74 million in taxes for the state. In March 2022, the state’s casinos produced a revenue of $235 million.

The latest state report reaffirms that Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana continues to be the most successful spot in the state. Ever since its opening in 2021, this northwest Indiana casino has been the state’s market leader.

In March, Hard Rock was the most profitable location, however, several other casinos also made a notable impact:

• Northern Indiana Hard Rock: $40 million
• Horseshoe Indianapolis: $34 million
• Horseshoe Hammond: $29 million
• Southern Indiana Caesars: $24 million
• $21 million: Harrah’s Hoosier Park

Which were the most popular casino games?

While Hoosiers enjoy table games, they are far less popular than electronic gaming devices (EGDs).

Electronic gaming devices (EGDs) encompass the bulk of digital games available in the state’s casinos. To put it simply, if it isn’t a table game, it is likely an EGD.

Among the group, slot machines are the most favored choice, however, EGD umbrella also includes other options such as virtual blackjack and video poker.

In March, Indiana’s casinos earned over $184 million in revenue from these games. As usual, a significant portion of the state’s overall revenue came from these games last month as well.

Another $40 million was contributed by table games to the total, although their popularity has its limits.

Considering the overall availability, the difference between table games and EGDs is understandable. Last month, Indiana’s casinos had 593 active table games, a number significantly lower than the 14,293 EGDs that were available.
