IU Meets Its Rival Purdue In This Weekend’s Old Oaken Bucket Game

Posted on December 8, 2020

It’s rivalry week for two of Indiana’s favorite football programs.

IU and Purdue will finally be going head-to-head in the 2020 Old Oaken Bucket game this Saturday.

The annual bout for the Oaken Bucket will take place at 3:30 p.m. on Big Ten Network.

The game being out of the national spotlight is surprising because of IU’s prominence as the No. 8 team in the country.

ESPN is opting to showcase Penn State vs. Michigan State at the same time instead. That decision will unfortunately leave out fans that don’t have BTN this year.

Even if you can’t watch the game, live betting the action could be a great way to make the experience more engaging. Thankfully, all of Indiana’s 10 online sports betting apps will be taking bets on the game this Saturday.

2020 IU-Purdue Old Oaken Bucket game odds

The Hoosiers will be looking to keep the Oaken Bucket in Bloomington. IU won last year’s rivalry bout, and has taken home the traveling trophy in five of the last seven seasons.

Despite IU’s recent success, Purdue has historically dominated the game. The Boilermakers are 74-42-6 in the all-time series.

Unsurprisingly, IU is the heavy favorite for the matchup right now. Here’s a glance at the live odds for this weekend’s game.

FanDuel college football parlay insurance

At least for now, there aren’t any promotions out there that are specific to the Oaken Bucket game.

However, there are some more general college football promos that fans can use for the matchup.

One of those promos is FanDuel’sCollege Football Parlay Insurance.”

The promo is best for football fans that like multi-leg parlays.

If you place a parlay with five or more legs on a college football game, FanDuel will refund you if all of those legs win except for one.

The refund is good for up to $25 once you opt-in to the deal, so that’s a good way to make a close loss feel like it never happened.

The promo can be used for the IU-Purdue game if you pick the matchup as one of your parlay legs.

Unibet live betting profit boost

The other solid college football promotion out there this week comes from Unibet.

The sportsbook’s deal is specifically for live betting. It’s a straight 20% profit boost on any college football live bet.

If you’re new to live betting, now’s a great time to give it a shot.

It’s works exactly how it sounds. You bet on the game as it’s happening rather than before it starts. Live betting is a great way to make watching the big game more interactive.

It also moves very quickly, as the lines change with the action on the field.

Those are the only two college football promotions out there right now, but that might change as we get closer to game day.

PointsBet is usually the king of making promos that are specific to Indiana events.

It’s the most likely sportsbook to have a promo just for the Oaken Bucket game, so check out PointsBet’s website or app closer to kickoff to see if it adds one.
