TwinSpires Sportsbook Debuts in Indiana Right Before Kentucky Derby
The TwinSpires Sportsbook has finally launched in Indiana.
The product of Churchill Downs is now amongst the ten online betting apps in Indiana.
This may be Indiana gamblers’ first encounter with the brand, but the state has had previous experiences with Churchill.
BetAmerica Sportsbook, which began operations in Indiana in December 2019, has been rebranded as TwinSpires.
Churchill sunsets BetAmerica brand
BetAmerica hasn’t particularly stood out in the sports betting industry.
The company consistently performed as the worst sportsbook in Indiana.
BetAmerica completed its final full month of operation in the Hoosier State in March 2021.
In that period, the sportsbook accepted only $76,000 in bets, marking the lowest record among all sportsbooks in the state by a significant difference.
Churchill was compelled to make a change due to the low numbers.
Churchill ultimately decided to consolidate everything under one name, TwinSpires, which has been the company’s horse racing brand for years.
It has taken a few months to get the rebranding process up and running since then.
TwinSpires Sportsbook, which began operations in January, is now live in four different states across the nation.
Finally, the launch on April 20 added Indiana and Pennsylvania to that list of states.
TwinSpires comes for betting on the Kentucky Derby
Churchill Downs was under a bit of a time pressure to complete this rebranding project quickly.
Just in time for the Kentucky Derby, TwinSpires arrived in Indiana.
The sportsbook and racebook app are now available for use by Hoosiers.
This year, the Derby is scheduled for May 1, and Churchill has invested significantly to maximize the benefits of the major race.
Every year, the company hosts the Derby in Louisville and is typically a front-runner in the racing industry.
Churchill’s hope has been realized now that Hoosiers can use the TwinSpires app to bet on the Kentucky Derby.
This will assist the company in absorbing as much racing action as possible next week.
Churchill Downs integrates betting
For over a decade now, TwinSpires has been accepting horse racing bets.
After launching BetAmerica, the company had two distinct brands competing for the same horse racing market.
Rebranding everything under the TwinSpires brand helps to address that issue.
An all-inclusive betting experience simplifies everything for customers, no matter what they’re placing bets on.
Though the horse race wagering app and sports betting app are separate products, they are currently unified under a single brand.
Ian Williams, President of Churchill’s Online Gaming, is hopeful that the change will result in a successful all-in-one product for gamblers.
By implementing a single brand strategy, we can concentrate on integrating our horse racing betting platform with our sports betting and iGaming business. This will offer our customers the ultimate online and mobile betting experience.
TwinSpires is already doing well in the horse race betting sector and aims to enhance its sports wagering business through this initiative.
It remains to be seen whether the rebranding of BetAmerica will genuinely address the company’s sports betting issues.
At the minimum, Churchill is receiving a greatly needed fresh start among gamblers nationwide.
