Another year, another March Madness appearance for Purdue University.

This year is Purdue’s sixth-straight tournament appearance, and the program’s 12th under Head Coach Matt Painter.

Last time around, the Boilermakers slugged their way into the Elite Eight before finally falling to No. 1 seed Virginia.

Purdue is a No. 4 seed this year, so the team will be gunning for another successful tournament trip.

Indiana’s online sportsbooks will be taking action on Purdue’s entire postseason run.

Purdue vs North Texas March Madness odds

The Boilermakers might not have made it far in the Big Ten Tournament, but they’re hoping to be in the mix at the Big Dance.

Oddly enough, Purdue is the only team from Indiana to make the March Madness cut during the one year that the entire tournament is taking place in the state.

With IU, Butler, and Notre Dame all having down seasons, the Boilermakers will be representing Hoosiers everywhere during this year’s tournament.

Purdue will be facing off against No. 13 seed North Texas in the first round of the tournament.

That bout will take place on Friday, March 19. Tipoff is at 7:25 p.m. on TNT.

As expected, Purdue is the favorite for the game.

North Texas had a solid 17-9 season but only played against one ranked team the entire year. The 18-9 Boilermakers won four of their nine games against ranked opponents.

Selection Sunday Purdue betting odds

March Madness is all about the matchups.

If a team draws a tougher opponent, that can drastically change their chances of making a deep tournament run.

Of course, things can also go the other way. Favorable matchups can certainly make it easier for a team to advance.

According to oddsmakers over at DraftKings sportsbook, Purdue’s path to the later rounds could end up being an easier one.

The Boilermakers were +5,000 to win the NCAA Championship, and +700 to make the Final Four prior to Selection Sunday.

Purdue’s championship odds haven’t changed, but the team is now +800 to make the Final Four and +550 to make the Elite Eight.

Obviously, there will still be a huge amount of variance in the schools that Purdue will have to take down if the team keeps advancing.

March Madness is known for its big upsets, so anything could happen.

Purdue’s path could have the Boilermakers facing off against teams like Villanova or Baylor. It all depends on which squads are able to make their way through the March Madness bracket.

As the only team from the state in the mix, Purdue will have the attention of Hoosiers everywhere during this once-in-a-lifetime March Madness Tournament.
