Hamlin, Harvick Will Battle As Favorites To Win Sunday’s Hollywood Casino 400

Posted on October 13, 2020

The Round of 8 is here!

The NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs are winding down. Only three races remain until the Championship Round.

The first of those three races is the Hollywood Casino 400, which takes place this Sunday, Oct. 18.

This weekend will be the first NASCAR race at Kansas Speedway since the Super Start Batteries 400 back in July.

Hollywood Casino 400 odds

Denny Hamlin won the last race at Kansas Speedway, and he’s the favorite to cross the checkered flag first this time around. Kevin Harvick has similar odds at most sportsbooks.

So far, only a handful of Indiana’s online sportsbooks are offering odds on the race. That will likely change as we inch closer to race day.

Here’s a look at the odds for some of the top drivers:

  DraftKings PointsBet BetRivers Unibet Caesars
Denny Hamlin +400 +400 +400 +400 +400
Kevin Harvick +400 +420 +400 +400 +400
Martin Truex Jr +550 +540 +550 +550 +550
Chase Elliott +600 +580 +600 +600 +500
Brad Keselowski +800 +800 +800 +800 +800
Ryan Blaney +1,400 +1,200 +1,400 +1,400 +1,000
Kyle Busch +1,400 +1,400 +1,400 +1,400 +1,200
Joey Logano +1,400 +1,300 +1,400 +1,400 +1,200

FanDuel doesn’t have odds up for the Hollywood Casino 400 yet, but the sportsbook will let you bet on the eventual Cup Series champion.

Kevin Harvick is current favorite to end up as this year’s top driver.

  • Kevin Harvick: +175
  • Denny Hamlin: +230
  • Brad Keselowski: +650
  • Chase Elliott: +750
  • Martin Truex Jr.: +1,000

Prop bets for the race haven’t been released yet at any of Indiana’s betting apps.

Again, that will change heading into the weekend. So if you’re looking for a specific type of bet, check in with your favorite sportsbook closer to race day.

NASCAR Playoff standings

The Oct. 11 race at Charlotte Motor Speedway knocked out four drivers from the postseason.

Kyle Busch, Austin Dillion, Clint Bowyer and Aric Almirola missed the cut to stay in the postseason field.

Things are starting to heat up now that there are only three outings on the schedule until the championship race.

Kevin Harvick is leading the pack as the Round of 8 finally gets underway.

Here’s a glance at the current NASCAR Cup Series playoff standings:

  1. Kevin Harvick: 67 points
  2. Denny Hamlin: 54 points
  3. Brad Keselowski: 35 points
  4. Chase Elliott: 27 points
  5. Joey Logano: 22 points
  6. Martin Truex, Jr.: 17 points
  7. Alex Bowman: 9 points
  8. Kurt Busch: 6 points

Kyle Busch was the defending champion heading into the season, but a down year has him missing the cut to make the second-to-last round.

Now that Busch is out of the picture, there’s guaranteed to be at least one driver in the championship race that didn’t make it to the final event last year.

Only four drivers will make it out of the Round of 8 and into the Cup Series Championship.

Logano and Harvick have won the Hollywood Casino 400 twice before, which is more than any other driver in the field this year.

Harvick first won the race back in 2013, and managed to snag another win in the 2016 outing. Logano won in back-to-back years in 2014 and 2015.

Regardless of who ends up on top this time around, racing fans will be happy to see some great competition in these final few races.
